Chippendale Four Drawer Chest
Southern New England, 1800-1820

A rare country Chippendale four drawer chest with deeply molded and shaped top, graduated drawers and applied bracket feet. Made of cherry with an old deep red painted surface. The dramatic shaped top has an almost 4" overhang to the diminutive body. Constructed with wooden pins in place of nails. Most likely from the uppper Connecticut River Valley. Replaced period brasses, minor lip repair.
